Halloween Party Tutorials – A Bar filled with BOOs

halloweenpartycollage headerI hope you know by now that I love a good bar, and by this I mean any bar (makeshift, bar cart or otherwise) in the home, as it is perfect for decorating!  Ok the booze isn’t bad either.  But in this case it is the BOOs that really makes the space!

For last year’s Halloween Spooktacular I used my rustic bar area, and spooked it up with a Chalkboard Bar Menu of our signature Boos!

chalkboard1First I created an old-fashioned “frame” inside the actual chalkboard frame with white chalk, and scattered hairline cracks to give it an aged look.  I then listed our two brews with catchy names and little pictures on the side.  I could have spent all day on this alone, as I love to draw on my chalkboard and change it up for the seasons or for parties.  Fake spider webs and spiders crept across the frame to finish it off.

*Beware too much of the Monster Mashed will leave you Monster Smashed!

1 bottle of pinot grigio
2 1/2 cups fresh apple cider
1 cup club soda
1/2 cup brandy
3 – 4 chopped apples (depending on size)

** You could even top of the glasses with a cinnamon sugar rim for some extra sweetness!

Next to the bar I had staged my old hutch (see Hutch Makeover) with mason jar glasses, a few vintage props and glass bottles with spooky labels!
