Falling For – Autumn Decor

Outdoor Autumn Decor header

Since it is officially fall, I have officially gone crazy with autumn decor!  Considering I don’t have a front porch to decorate, I took to my balcony with the colors and accessories associated with this time of year.

You may remember this yellow hutch from my very first blog post, well its has really become the perfect shabby chic spot to style with garden decor for the summer, drinks and glasses for small gatherings, and now rustic fall accessories for my favorite season!

hutch4Some great autumn decor I picked up from Michaels Craft Store include the leaf garland, the rustic pumpkin, the bark plaque and the bird house.  The last two I hope to do some DIY projects with, but for now work perfectly as accessories for this hutch.

I started by wrapping the red and orange berry garland around the top of the hutch, securing as I went. I intertwined this with the leaf garland, and mixed pieces of the two together to give a more cohesive look.

I also used an old metal bowl I found at a flea market and filled it with various gourds.  I did the same with a wire basket for the bottom shelf.  I then took a glass vase and filled it with fake berries and leaves from my garland, and placed a tall white candle in the middle.

hutch10I lined the pull out drawer with burlap, and filled it in with an old tree stump, and some plants and greenery that I added some of the fake berries to, for that extra fall color.  Lastly, I topped the hutch off with a rustic looking lantern from Home Goods!

hutch11To tie the whole fall look together, I wrapped a pumpkin garland around the balcony rail, and filled a metal vase and tied it with raffia string before I added the finishing touch of gerbera daisies in those gorgeous autumn hues!

Now I just need a hot cup of cider to help me enjoy my new seasonal space!

* I still have the rest of my apartment to decorate for this wonderful season, along with some great fitting DIY projects so be sure to check back in!
