Wall Art is one of the easiest and impactful DIY type projects you can take on. Especially if you have some Record Album Frames. These square frames are perfect for changing up your look, as the possibilities are endless!
Once upon a time, I lived with my parents, and one of my greatest wishes was to have a wall of records, in my bedroom. And I did! I got the look by buying 9 Record Album Frames from Restoration Hardware. Now this may sound crazy, but this was way before they started selling them on every corner. Now you can get versions of these same frames from Target and Michaels for much cheaper! Anyway, these frames got me through my early twenties by showcasing Bob Dylan and Fleetwood Mac albums, and right in the center square I had Bruce Springsteen’s butt, with the Born in the U.S.A album. I really wish I had a picture of this (the wall art, not Springsteen’s butt). But I digress…
Then when I moved out and had my own apartment, these same frames took on a whole new look above my couch. I achieved this cohesive but not too matchy look by purchasing scrapbook paper from JoAnn Fabrics. I apologize for the poor quality of the picture, as it was taken from my phone many years ago. I also apologize for the couple of wonky frames.
Now since I am onto my fourth apartment in Boston, I knew I could not have the same look. Time to switch it up again! This time I didn’t take a trip to JoAnn’s, I just used pieces of newspaper, black acrylic paint, and a paintbrush. Oh and I also used a french saying from one of my favorite necklaces, which means “Good Life”.
Really fills in that void above the table, don’t you think?
