I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We sure did, as we spent the day in New York City on Saturday. Christmas was everywhere, and so were we.
We left Grand Central Station and headed for Bryant Park to ice skate. You could easily spend your whole day here, the rink is surrounded by holiday shops, and a restaurant with heat lamps for you to enjoy the scenic outdoors.
The streets were packed with people, but we felt lucky as we didn’t have to wait very long to ice skate, for a table at the Plaza or for lunch at the Brooklyn Diner. Holiday music poured into the streets and shopping bags were stacked up the arms of the people we parted through in Midtown.
It seemed our luck ran out when we saw the line for frozen hot chocolates at Serendipity. But that was ok as we decided to go into Dylan’s Candy Bar instead. Who needs hot chocolate when you can sit on a peppermint stool at the bar and sip on a Candy Cocktail!
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Fig & Olive before heading to Rockefeller Center. We finished the day by watching the ice skaters, the holiday light show and by taking more than enough pictures in front of the huge Christmas tree.
