Christmas Crafts With Mason Jars

masonjarchristmascraftsOn my list of favorite things, Christmas and mason jars would probably be closest to the top.  So why not combine them?  There are so many ways to decorate your home for the holidays with mason jars! These types of jars are everywhere right now because they are inexpensive and just so cute! Therefore today I will show you how I used them, as well as some of my favorite mason jar Christmas crafts out there!

First off, I hand painted and distressed the outside of two pint size mason jars.  You can find a tutorial from one of my previous posts here, as the steps are pretty much the same.  I free-handed the swirled candy cane design, but you could also use painter’s tape.  I tied the tops using some jute twine and metal ball accessories, but you could also use ribbon, evergreen branches or berries.

These jars are perfect for centerpieces, to hold fresh flowers, utensils, straws and even to float candles.

How fun would it be to have a little Christmas mason jar craft party?  A box of mason jars is pretty cheap, and then the host could provide some supplies and ask the guests to bring their own.  Throw on some holiday music and sip some spiked hot chocolate?  I think I see this in my future.
